A wide range of Colorado attractions are within a short distance of Cabin By The Tracks. Plan your vacation by exploring the links in bold below.

Railfan Hot Spots
Take trip down to Golden to see The Colorado Railroad Museum, or head west to the Georgetown Loop Railroad, each only 45 minutes from the cabin. The East Portal of the Moffat Tunnel and Big Ten Curve are an hour away, and day trips can easily be made to the West Portal.

South Boulder Creek runs through the canyon and through the cabin's backyard. Fish for trout in the immediate area, or travel to hundreds of great spots in this part of Colorado, east and west of the Continental Divide. For a list of great fishing spots, see the Colorado Adventure Guide web site.

Central City and Blackhawk offer small stakes gambling casinos, including slot machines and Black Jack. These mountain towns have lots of shopping, too. They are 22 miles from the cabin. Find out more at ColoradoCasinoGuide.info.

Hiking and Biking
Rocky Mountain National Park is a short, scenic drive north, and offers breathtaking views and hiking trails. Discover Colorado's state and local park trails on foot or on a mountain bike. Paved bike paths are located all over the Front Range.

Shops and Services
Although Pinecliffe itself offers the seclusion of no services other than a post office, pay phone, and other cabins, all other services (including markets, hardware stores, restaurants, and everything else) are close via mountain highway, in towns such as Nederland (6 miles) and Rollinsville (7 miles). Denver International Airport is 1 hour and 20 minutes away.

In the winter, several major ski areas are within 90 minutes, including Eldora Ski Area which is only a 20-minute drive from the cabin. Information about other ski resorts can be found at ColoradoSki.com. For a true Colorado railroad experience, grab your skis and head down to Denver to catch the Ski Train to Winter Park.

Day Trips
Day trips can easily be made to the West Portal, Gore Canyon, Glenwood Canyon, the "Joint-Line" from Denver to Trinidad, and Cheyenne, Wyoming. Also close by are a plethora of other attractions throughout the mountains along the spine of the Rockies, and all along Colorado's Front Range, from Fort Collins to Boulder, Denver, and on down to Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and Trinidad. See the Colorado Vacation Guide web site for more.
